VDA5050 Acceptance Assessment

A successful demonstration can leave important requirements untested. Before handover, operators and project teams need to understand which interface behaviours have been demonstrated and which deviations remain open. The assessment gives the responsible parties a documented technical basis for their acceptance decision.

The outcome

Make your acceptance decision with traceable technical evidence

A demonstration shows that something works once. Acceptance asks whether the agreed interface requirements have been met, and which ones have not yet been exercised. The assessment compares the recorded behaviour against the agreed criteria, documents what was tested and what was found, and sets out the deviations that remain open, so the decision rests on evidence rather than an impression.

Who it is for

The parties who have to sign off

Fleet operators and project owners

Obtain an independent technical view before making a project acceptance decision.

System integrators

Prepare a documented interface assessment for customer and supplier review.

Technical project teams

Resolve open findings across the vehicle manufacturer, controller vendor and operator.

Scope to agree

What the assessment covers

  • Assessment basis and test plan

Agree the interface boundary, the applicable requirements, versions and the planned scenarios before anything is run.

  • Technical test evidence

Assess the agreed test runs and recordings against the defined interface requirements, down to message and field.

  • Deviations and open items

Document findings and evidence gaps for discussion before the acceptance decision is taken.

Delivery and engagement

From agreed scope to documented findings

  1. Set the basis

Review the agreed requirements, acceptance criteria and test boundary.

    Step 1
  2. Plan and run

Agree the interface scenarios and arrange the test runs and traffic recording.

    Step 2
  3. Evaluate

Compare the recorded behaviour with the criteria and document the deviations.

    Step 3
  4. Hand over

Review the technical report and the open items with the project team.

    Step 4
Deliverables to agree

What you receive

  • Interface test plan

The scenarios and requirements covered by the agreed assessment, defined before the runs.

  • Technical assessment report

What was tested, what was found and the evidence supporting the findings.

  • Open-item and evidence handover

The unresolved items with agreed owners, and the recording kept for later reference.

What we need from you

The agreed acceptance criteria, interface requirements, versions, factsheets and relevant layout. Access to the test environment and traffic recordings, authorised test execution and the participation of the responsible technical teams.

Assessment limits

Results apply to the assessed configuration, scenarios and available evidence. Untested requirements remain unassessed. Whole-system performance, machinery safety, regulatory compliance and legal or contractual advice are outside this service profile.

Technical assessment, not legal acceptance

A documented basis for the decision, not the decision itself

This is a technical assessment, not formal legal or contractual project acceptance. The acceptance decision and any legal effect remain with the authorised contracting parties. No certification or release approval is issued. LogistiXpert develops LogIQ VDA5050; independence refers to vehicle and fleet-controller vendors.
